For this week's Women Composer Wednesday, we are featuring composer and virtuoso violinist, Nathalie Bonin.
Nathalie Bonin is a San Francisco-born French Canadian virtuoso violinist and composer. Her playing has been heard with Wynton Marsalis, Stevie Wonder, Luciano Pavarotti, Chance The Rapper, Yes, Cirque du Soleil, DeadMau5, Alan Parsons, Peter Cetera, Charles Aznavour and Bran Van 3000. She also served as concertmaster for Montreal’s La Voix TVA (The Voice) for 8 years. Nathalie’s most recent solo work was for Quinsin Nachoff’s violin concerto on the album “Pivotal Arc”.
Nathalie was a composer and soloist for the “Women Warriors: The Voices of Change” concert and documentary, which has won a multitude of global awards over the past year. She has scored 5 Hallmark movies, and notably trained a leading actress on violin. Her compositions have been licensed on TF1, BBC, RTS, PBS, ESPN, MLB, Radio-Canada and NBC, including the popular series New Amsterdam and The Oprah Conversation.
Nathalie has a daredevil side - a renowned aerial violin act - and has wowed audiences at NHL All-Star Games, an Oilers Opening Season Ceremony, Loréal and other worldwide events as well as numerous tv shows, including: La Vie est un Cirque, L’Heure de Gloire and Star Academy Finals.
Nathalie is now based in Los Angeles and holds dual American-Canadian citizenship.

Nathalie has released several with MPATH to date. Her intimate orchestral piece, "Free Spirit", can be heard on our summer playlist, "Up on the Clouds". She is also about to release her first album with MPATH, entitled, "Inner Mindscapes".
