Samantha Powell
Mercury nominated and British-born Samantha Powell, also known as SJAE or Sammy Jay, was the UK’s first female music producer and hailed in the US as ‘the best in the business’. Living and working in Los Angeles, this producer, writer and singer, has over two decades of experience in the industry. Powell’s music and songs have been widely used in advertising, film, sports broadcasts and episodic television, the latter including the shows Empire (Fox), Lethal Weapon (Fox), Flashpoint (CBS), and MTV’s Awkward and Ridiculousness. Her advertising credits include Fox Sports, BB&T, Jack in the Box and many others. Most recently, SJAE worked with Raphael Saadiq on scoring the Netflix Movie ‘After Party’, partial score for upcoming movie ‘Bad Trip’ starring Tiffany Haddish and promo music for new Michael Bay movie, ‘6 Underground’, starring Ryan Reynolds.
SJAE worked on some of the world’s best-selling albums and produced logo music for top radio stations, RTL, Bayern 3, and The Wave. Her music can be heard in promo slots for Netflix, FOX Sports, The NBA, and Reelz Tv. SJAE is a composer and Executive Producer for Howling Music in Nashville, working on the music for global advertising campaigns such as Hyundai and Ford, BB&T, Jack In the Box and the US Marine Core. SJAE’s new EP ‘First’ is out on all digital formats and features artists Raphael Saadiq, Sam Sparro and Dria Thornton.
